The quality mark for carers
Carer Friendly aims to recognise, improve and increase access to information and support for unpaid carers.
A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support.
Three in five people in the UK will be carers at some point in their lives. Caring can have an impact on many aspects of someone’s life — from money and work to health and wellbeing.
The power of
Carer Friendly
By making a commitment to being Carer Friendly you can show you understand and acknowledge the vital role carers play in their local communities. Many of your friends, family, colleagues, customers and clients will have a care responsibility.
Carer Friendly has been designed in partnership with carers and is run by TuVida, a leading charity for unpaid carers and the people they care for.
