Coleg Gwent Learner Services Team have been extremely proactive in their approach to supporting student learners who also have an unpaid caring role.  The Team have worked with students who are unpaid carers and in partnership with many different services to ensure that the needs of carers are being identified and  met across the Coleg Gwent campuses. Additional information, advice and avenues for local support for unpaid carers have been added onto the Coleg staff SharePoint to ensure that it is accessible to all staff and staff training has been undertaken.  Information has been shared and displayed throughout the campuses and adjustments for students who are unpaid carers have been consulted on and agreed. It is fantastic to see the commitment of Learner Services to identify unpaid carers and support their students who have this role.
