Families First achieves the Carer Friendly Advanced accreditation!

The service became the pathfinder for Young Carers in Blaenau Gwent in February 2020, they support Young Carers by offering respite, direct support, training opportunities, Young Carers assessments including the Young Carer ID card scheme which was launched in April 2021.  They actively promote the rights of Young Carers and raise awareness for professionals to identify a Young Carer and refer into their services for support.  The accreditation panel felt that the service has been particularly creative in continuing to identify and engage young carers throughout the Covid lockdowns.
