Supporting Carers in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan

The Dewis Cymru Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan team recognises that caring is a significant and often life-changing responsibility that affects our colleagues, service users, and the wider community. Carers play a vital role in society, and we are committed to acknowledging, supporting, and valuing their contributions.
In our work promoting the Dewis Cymru Health and Wellbeing directory across Cardiff and the Vale, we regularly engage with individuals in various caring roles. We are dedicated to ensuring carers are recognised, listened to, and supported in every way we can.

Our team maintains the Dewis Cymru directory, which provides information about groups, services, and support available across the region. We will continue to ensure that the directory includes a wide range of carer-friendly and carer-focused services, making it easier for carers to access the help and resources they need.
We are committed to signposting and sharing information about all local services, support, and activities for unpaid carers—including young carers—with parents and carers throughout Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

We understand that anyone can become a carer at any point in their life, and many may not identify themselves as such. That’s why we pledge to ensure all team members are informed about what it means to be a carer, the challenges carers face, and the local support available to them—whether that’s through services, training, or activities that promote wellbeing and relaxation.
Above all, we commit to fostering a culture where carers are valued, heard, and supported—both within our team and across our wider workplace.
